Allen takes Eschweiler GP
Bertram Allen jumped to victory in the 1.50m Masters Tour Grand Prix in Eschweiler with a time of 35.66. This put him just ahead of team mate and Tipperary’s Denis Lynch who jumped clear in a time of 36.09 to place 2nd. While Irishman David Simpson. jumped clear with a time of 39.75 to finish in 4th place with ‘Keoki’.

Seapatrick Cruise Cavalier & Chris Megahey win in Liverpool
Ireland’s Chris Megahey rode ”Seapatrick Cruise Cavalier”(Cruise On X Cavalier Royale) to victory at the Liverpool International Horse show. The pair were the only combination to clear the big wall in the last round. (more…)
Simpson takes Queen Elizabeth II Cup
Ireland’s David Simpson claimed the Templant Events Queen Elizabeth II Cup this afternoon.
Riding the 11-year-old grey mare Chessy 17, he posted a clear round in a time of 47.85sec to go ahead of Holly Smith and Lammy Beach. Last to go was the former Hickstead Derby winner Phillip Miller, who posted the fastest time of the day with 46.51sec, but four faults cost them the win and relegated them to fourth place.
It was a good day for Ireland, with Billy Twomey scoring a valuable double of international wins today. He won the Bunn Leisure Salver this morning with Diaghilev, before taking the British Speed Classic with Thomas. The in-form Irishman has now won three international classes at this year’s Longines Royal International Horse Show.
Irish on form at Hickstead
Irish riders are out in force at the four-star Hickstead Derby meeting scoring a multiple of wins at the English venue over the last two days.
With wins for Billy Twomey, David Simpson, Shane Breen and Enda Ivanhoff, They men in green are proving to be a force to be reckoned with.
